Where do I start? I don't ever feel like I have much worthy of posting about lol. I've been busy doing the mom thing, caring for & cleaning the house, & of course knitting. ALL my orders are caught up now! Whoo!
I've been working on plans/ideas for my store. I got a wild hair up my arse & made some modifications to my soaker pattern. I LOVE this new soaker so much, that I'm altering my longies & sleepsack patterns as well. Pics & more info soon- I'm so excited about them. Once I get things typed up, I'll send out the sleepsack pattern to those who requested it. I'm anal about things being "just right" ;D
My congo is stocking on Wed. & I have NO CLUE what to make for the stocking. I swear if no one buys the Jack prefold in the next few days, I'm keeping it for Dane's butt LOL. It's so cute.
I'm so bummed. I can hear the cannons firing downtown. "Pirates" are taking over Wilmington tonight & we're missing it!! Kids napped too long for us to make it in time =(
Since yesterday morning, I've had a nasty sore throat. It isn't getting better either =( Looks like I'll be gargling saltwater today.
I'd love to get a few things finished this weekend- a fewok, four knits done & another pair of longies started, some cleaning, but SLEEP is the biggest goal. I can't be feeling this awful when I have things to do..
I uploaded a bunch of new pics, took me forever! I'm not going to list them all, but I'll share a few in the post, you can always see them all in my neat Vox gallery over there >
My baby boy is four weeks old today, can you believe it?
Time flies by waaay too fast. Never seemed to before I had kids, that's for sure! Noah & Ella have been sick, so that's been a world of fun. Makes for easier picture taking, though ;D
Been working on catching up, I am almost there! D-man needed some longies (it's cold in the house now, go figure), so I finished up a pair I started in labor..
He needed a hat, too ;) I have an order almost finished, just need to cuff & finish it off. I love how the yarn knitted up with the soaker, it looks so pretty..
I started on a new pair of longies & hope to finish those in the next few days, also. I have to get cracking before all my winter yarn comes in. I'd like to have some custom "pumpkin" soaker slots available soon. Guess we'll see how things go!
I've been quite busy! Lots going on lately, just not finding the words at the moment. Probably a more meaningful update tomorrow.
I had company yesterday- Alton & his family, so I was pretty worn out by the time they left.. I'd been cleaning for a few days before, so at least the house looked ok. Until the toyboxes in the livingroom vomited everywhere (their usual condition).
Our nephew Josh is so big! He was nearly as tall as Ella & I'm sure he weighs more, lol. He sure is a cute little man!
I think he looks a little like Kenan, so he has a special spot in my heart =)
I've been working alot, still not seeming to catch up, so I closed my remaining custom slots on the Noelle Baby cart temporarily. I don't have alot to do, I'm just a little behind which will help me catch up faster. I'm also listing some girly wool I knitted.. could sure use the money- Dana needs stuff. Here's a custom soaker I have halfway knitted..
I took a few new belly pics, but since we got the window a/c unit, we had to unplug the desktop computer, ect. so I am stuck with them on the camera until we get a new surge protector & I can upload them. Bleh. Unless I can figure out a way to upload to the laptop. Oh well- at least it's amazingly cool in the house now. The main a/c unit appears to now be working beautifully now as well =)
I'm curious- what TV shows is everyone hooked on? I don't watch alot of TV, but I can't miss Days of our Lives, Big Brother, Medium, Lost, & I like alot of educational type stuff on History Channel, Discovery, Disc. Health, ect. Last night I saw a show on TLC about prenatal surgery on babies with Spina Bifida- of course because of Tristan it was fascinating to me. Made me wish they had the technology ten years ago, though- I felt like my sweet little man was cheated out of having less nerve damage than he ended up with.
I'm seriously debating leaving Livejournal & doing my posting here. Of course that would mean some of my entries would be for friends, but I think I'm ok with that, lol ;D
I want to start a new knitting project, but my HUGE LTK order of yarn should be here tomorrow & I am thinking I'll want to start on some small longies for Baby & large ones for Ella once it gets here. Most of the colorways I ordered custom & I'm SOOO freaking excited to see how they look!! I'm also ready to start on a custom soaker for a special customer with some gorgeous Wooly Wonders yarn, have to gauge it quick first since it's a bit lighter of a weight than I'm used to working with.
My birthday is coming up soon, I told Kenan I want a ball winder because between all the yarn I obsessively buy & dye myself, I sure could use one. I'll be 28 on the 31st. They are building an Olive Garden here & that has got to be one of my favorite restaurants, I'm just hoping it will be finished by the end of the month so we can go out on a birthday dinner date. If I'm delivered by then (which I'm pretty certain I will be lol) I plan to have a drink or two ;)
Mr. Mailman has been a very naughty boy, indeed! I have some yarn on it's way to me & didn't get a single thing in the mailbox today =( Two of my orders have been sent & I am yet unsure of the status of the third- yet largest. I'll be getting my IBK & Midnight Spectrum set in the next few days for sure though! *rubs hands with glee*
Yarn is always on my mind lately- along with birthing. Knitting helps relax me so wonderfully, I so enjoy the almost zen-like peace I get from it. Without a doubt it's the best (& my favorite!) hobby I've ever picked up. I will talk alot about my projects & yarn in here. I'm an addict, lol ;)
I found the cutest pattern on HC over the weekend. I HAD to get it so I could make a Jack Sparrow doll for Noah. It doesn't seem difficult at all, although it's been a few months since I've picked up my crochet hooks, so I may have to look up some stitches.
He is insisting on having a "pirate" party, so I'm going to go all out. I'm thinking of something fun for the cake- maybe a ship or treasure chest. Noah will be four on September 16th. I am open to fun & unique party ideas, too!
My baby boy is going to be four! *sniffle*
